hollowskin replied to your post: Veganism is more affordable then a meat based diet. Not all vegans buy the pricey gardein, or tofurky products. One cube of tofu, has more protein then a steak, and costs about $1….

Hopping on to this fun train…I cut my grocery budget by 75% when I went vegan and lost 75 pounds (well needed pounds, mind you) at the same time as feeling as healthy as I ever have AND never feeling hungry/deprived. My income qualifies for food stamps but I refuse to go on them. Most of the healthy foods I buy are not covered by food stamps. You want your bacon, your lard and crap from a box - fine, no one is stopping you. Just don’t pretend it’s the cheap or healthy way out lol.
