I have seen people in the vegan community talking a lot about Bill Clinton and whether or not he is vegan, when he has admitted to eating a bit of fish still. (Just so you know where I stand, he is not a vegan) Some vegans think that those…
Ironic that the vegan community would rather people not throw around a ‘label’ than someone use the label and abstain from animal-based foods a predominant amount of the time. How can we expect something to spread and actually make a difference if we want to make sure everyone follows the rules to a T before even considering a switch? I’d have never stopped eating animal products if I knew there was a RULEBOOK first, ya know ;).
Hard definitions make veganism hard. It makes the mother who stays home with her three kids all day a failure when her daughter has a carton of milk at school, the college student at a party looking to make friends a fuck-up for not asking about the broth in their vegetarian chili and more. More importantly, it make vegans look like assholes. What’s so wrong with vegan-flirting?
